Sixty-two-year-old Le, an expat from the US living in Singapore, recently took part in the Children Cancer Foundation’s Hair for Hope where she got her “long and nice” hair shaved off. “I live in Singapore (for over two years now) and I have an obligation to give back to the community. I wanted to show that I care about the children with cancer so I decided to shave my hair.” She didn’t even tell her husband what she was planning to do! The mother of four daughters shared she and her husband decided to came to Singapore as her children don’t visit them and there is only one grandchild that they have.

After shaving her hair, she had no problem going out lock-less and with a hat! She even went to the Amore Women’s Day Out and worked out for three hours doing aerobics and kickboxing. And in the morning, she also worked out for two hours on her own doing Zumba and cardio.

At the Amore event, she wore a shirt that said it is all – “attitude is everything” and in the back “age is just a number”. The ex-teacher happily showed us pictures and said: “At any age, you can do it. If you have a mindset, nothing is impossible.”
