Yap, a 67 year old musician
Holding the 月琴, he skillfully played a couple of Chinese New Year songs in the spirit of it. When asked about how long he has been playing the Chinese instrument, he proudly replied 4 decades! Sitting humbly at the spot near a bakery, he continued to play his instrument calmly, stroking each string with such grace. He sees himself as a musician - a trade that sometimes can be very underrated.
He does not allow his age to define what he can or cannot do. When asked if he was able to play for us, he replied "yes, definitely." Yap's passion is music, and he finds joy in playing it. This man never fails to travel around the Tiong Bahru and Bukit Merah vicinity to bring life to the streets. Spot him around these areas! In the spirit of CNY, he played a piece for us.

坐在一家面包店附近，拿着一把月琴，Yap巧妙地弹奏了几首曲。
当问起已弹奏了多久时，他自豪地回答说：40 年！在音乐里，他不只找到了喜悦， 还寻找到对于它的热忱。
带着这一份对音乐的心意，他必定会给予中巴鲁以及红山地带的街头生命。
